Short General History
MINI was relaunched by BMW Group in 2001, reviving the iconic British small car brand originally created in 1959 by Sir Alec Issigonis for the British Motor Corporation. The original Mini became a cultural symbol in Britain throughout the 1960s. Under BMW ownership, MINI expanded from a single model into a range of premium small cars including the Countryman, Clubman, Convertible, and Paceman. The brand is transitioning toward electrification, with the MINI Electric and all-electric Aceman leading its EV push. In Southeast Asia, MINI's primary market is Singapore, where the brand is sold alongside BMW through the same dealer network.
