Xpeng (XPEV) was founded in 2014 in Guangzhou, China, by He Xiaopeng — a co-founder of UCWeb (later acquired by Alibaba). Xpeng focuses on intelligent electric vehicles with an in-house developed advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020. In Singapore, Xpeng opened its first Southeast Asian flagship showroom in late 2024, registering 336 units of the G6 coupe SUV by year-end. The G9 full-size SUV followed as its second model for the region. Xpeng's ADAS and highway navigation system are considered competitive benchmarks against Tesla Autopilot.
