Foton Motor was founded in 1996 in Beijing, China, as a commercial vehicle manufacturer under the Beiqi Foton Motor Group. It is one of China's largest light commercial vehicle producers and entered the Philippines in 2007, making it one of the earliest Chinese automotive brands to establish a formal retail and service presence in Southeast Asia. Foton has over 27 dealerships and 55 service points in the Philippines. The brand primarily serves commercial buyers in logistics, agriculture, and construction. In the Philippines, Foton posted 21.6% sales growth in 2024. Foton also sells utility vans and passenger vehicles under its Gratour sub-brand.
