The brand built its global identity through the Jimny — one of the longest-running compact 4x4 vehicles in automotive history — and its range of economical small cars. Suzuki is a major player in the minicar (kei car) segment and has significant presence in developing markets. In the Philippines, Suzuki is consistently ranked in the top five automotive brands by volume. The brand is partially owned by Toyota, which acquired a 4.9% stake in 2019.
